Single pot still whiskey is a style of unique to Ireland and was for many years the most popular whiskey style in the world. However history and fashion were unkind and over time this method of production lovingly wrought from huge copper stills almost fell out of existence altogether with the distillers of Ireland moving towards the less robust and less rewarding column still style.
Alone in their dedication to the Single Pot Still style were the Irish Distillers of Midleton who kept the flame alight through the ongoing production of Redbreast. Since 1903 the ‘priest’s bottle’ has remained the preserve of those who knew their whiskey; the orderee at a proper bar receiving a silent nod of appreciation from the barman.
We have been proudly involved in the international relaunch of Redbreast, from it’s positioning through to it’s advertising. This was all stapled around the insight that men love the reassurance that quality long held provides and around our daringly simple idea of Those in the know, know Redbreast – which became out advertising line.
The resulting great work has only one problem – keeping up production of a whiskey that takes the guts of 20 years to produce that is flying off the shelves and is quickly becoming the choice of the those in the know from NY to LA.
