This ad makes me jealous. Really, really jealous. Dr Bruce Banner green with jealousy. But not for the most obvious reason. Sure, it would be nice to have a Hollywood Movie budget but that’s not why i’m envious. It’s not the 3 month production shoot that travelled the globe either.

This weekend saw over 20,000 people queue up for the Living Aboard exhibition in the RDS (I would say that the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis organisers were sick at the irony of this harbinger of mass emigration happening on the same weekend and the same location)

The National Substance Misuse Strategy Report
Last November I was critical of suggestions to regulate the advertising of certain foods. Now it is the recommendations made by the report of the National Substance Misuse Strategy Group.
I wholeheartedly endorse a level of control over the advertising and promotion of alcohol but when does it go to far.
The folks living with no safety net
Yesterday the Central Bank published its report on the last quarter of 2011 which showed that 1 in 7 mortgages are now in arrears. In real numbers that means that over 70,000 mortgages are in arrears of 90 days or over, and frighteningly that number is up 42% since March 2010.
