How much is that dogfood in the window?
We at Boys and Girls are (for the most part) huge dog lovers and an article in Monday’s Irish Examiner must not go unnoticed.
Nestlé’s pet food brand ‘Beneful’ has launched the very first TV commercial for dogs. The commercial airs on Austrian TV this week and ends with the catchy phrase “So delicious, so healthy, so happy”. Watch out ‘Easy, Breezy, Beautiful’.
Here it is, gather ye (and your dogs) round:
As a staunch dog supporter in the centuries old Cat v Dog battle I would like to take this opportunity to be a sore winner. Take that Iams cat- you may think you’re so sophisticated and discerning with impeccable taste but is there an advert aimed especially at you rather than your owner?
Perhaps you haven’t witnessed many dogs carrying wallets or credit cards but don’t forget their owners. If there’s one thing clear from pet food commercials of recent years and the questionable dog in a designer bag phenomenon its that owners love to spoil their pets.
Finally I must confess that despite the commercial using scientifically researched high frequency tones and chew toy-like squeaks my Simpsons infested mind immediately jumped to this conclusion:
