I wholeheartedly endorse a level of control over the advertising and promotion of alcohol but when does it go to far.

How does it work? Well apparently you download the app and then use it while the ad is showing on TV. Audio-fingerprinting technology then recognizes the ad and a coupon

A New Low for Newspaper advertising
A report in the Guardian today shows ad revenue for newspapers print and digital editions to be at its lowest since 1985. Even accounting for inflation the $25.8bn spent by advertisers in 2010 is about the same level as nearly 50 years ago.
